Obi-Wan Kenobi, the latest in line of Disney+ originals set in theStar Wars Saga, gained a brilliant response from fans, who loved the nostalgia-induced six-episode event that took us back to the prequel films.

The series might have received mixed reviews from the critics, but the fans love it, especially for how it reintroduced them to their favorite characters from the prequels — and turns out that also includesStar Wars SequelsactorJohn Boyega.

John Boyega wears the new Stormtrooper suit in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

John Boyega recently appeared at the premiere of Jordan Peele’s latest horror film,Nope. The Wrapasked Boyega about his opinions onStar Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobiif he had seen it. Boyega confirmed that despite being busy with his schedule, he took time to watch the show. He said,

Of course I’ve watched them! Oh yeah, I watched them first day they came out.

When asked about his opinion on the show, John Boyega said that Hayden Christensen made the best part of the series for him. Praising the actor and the way his character took shape in the show, he said,

I think it was fun, it was good to see Ewan [McGregor]. It was good to see, you know, our guy Anakin — well, my guy Anakin, MY guy, back. For him to have more nuance and have more story as well, was just, for me, just phenomenal just to see.

John Boyega joined the franchise as storm trooper-turned-resistance fighter Finn/F-2187 inStar Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. He later reprised his role in the two sequels, where his character arc was one of the central aspects as the story progressed. As of now, there isn’t any intimation about John Boyega’s or any other cast member’s return to the franchise in the planned sequels and spin-offs of theStar Wars Saga. But it would be lovely to see where Finn goes after being a resistance fighter in the future.

Obi-Wan Kenobi’sSuccess is Owed to Fans Like Boyega

Boyega emphasized his feelings upon seeing his favorite characters back on-screen and how their relationship unfolded in this new franchise segment. And that has been the case for a lot of fans.

The cynosure of the show was Hayden Christensen’s return as Darth Vader in the show, where he got to portray the character as both Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker. Thefinal fight between Obi-Wan and Vadergave Vader’s character arc significant and substantial support, focusing on his inner conflictto exact revenge from his former masterand expand the Empire under Emperor Palpatine.

Christensen undoubtedly outdid himselfin that sequence where he has his mask torn into half, forcing him to confront Obi-Wan as Anakin again. The show’s attempt to fill in the gaps between the prequels and the sequels further strengthened the two series separated by years.

Though the reviews have been mixed, the show’s nostalgic crux has resonated with many fans, including John Boyega. There aren’t any plans toget the show a Season 2as it was intended to be a miniseries, but who knows what future adventures fromStar Warsmay surprise the audience.
