As the end of 2024 approaches,Netflixare making it a sad goodbye to the year for fans of twoJason Stathamaction movies, asThe MechanicandRedemptionwill be dropped from the streamer on December 31 as their syndicated content shifts around for the new year. In short, get your fix now before it is too late.
The Mechanic, a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson movie under the direction of Simon West, is a classic example of the brand of action Statham kills every time. In his first outing as near-perfect assassin Arthur Bishop, the Brit has to avenge the death of his mentor, keep himself alive, and teach his mentor’s son a few life-lessons along the way. You know, they usual. Meanwhile, Steven Knight’s directorial debut,Redemption(also known asHummingbird), puts the actor in the role of ex-special forces soldier Joey Smith, who assumes the identity of another man to work for the Chinese Mafia and rebuild his life until – you guessed it – someone dies, and he needs to avenge them in the most brutal way possible in the allotted runtime.

Statham has proven his worth in this kind of movie time and time again, so fans who have been holding off watching these gems on Netflix need to get moving now before getting lost in the Christmas rush and finding them gone when the festivities are over. While they will likely show up somewhere else pretty soon, there is never a guarantee of that happening in the world of streaming, so miss them at your own risk.
Jason Statham is Also Streaming for Free
Although the loss ofThe MechanicandRedemptionfrom the Netflix catalog will mean that the streamer’s content featuring Statham will be almost non-existent, there are still plenty of other places to get a fix of the star, especially with many of his movies becoming available on free streaming channels.
In the last few months,Mechanic: Resurrection, the 2016 sequel toThe Mechanic, has been gaining a lot of attention on Tubi, frequenting the Top 10 on the platform on several occasions. While it wasone of Statham’s critical disappointments, the film has more than made up for its lacking reviews by becoming a huge hit for Tubi, joining other action thrillers from his back catalog, such asSafe,Parker, andThe One, which can be watched for free at any time.
