When it comes to the massive worlds that fit within theMarvelCinematic Universe and theStar Warsuniverse, the possibilities are endless, in regards to the types of stories one could come up with. Since both brands are owned by Disney, the potential for any kind of crossover between the MCU and the galaxy far, far away is there, but we don’t know if the studio will decide to explore those possibilities at all. TheMarvel Cinematic Universeis about to start its massivePhase Threenext year withCaptain America: Civil War, andStar Wars: The Force Awakenswill kick off a new trilogy and set of anthology films. With all of that being said, one of the MCU stars,Guardians of the Galaxy’sDave Bautista, would love to see some of the Guardians cross over into theStar Warsuniverse.

“We always thought it would be so great if Drax or even Rocket orGrootjust showed up in aStar Warsfilm. We just thought that would be so great. Just acameo, no dialogue, just passing a scene, maybe a bar scene where Drax and Rocket are just having a drink. It would be so great.”

Star Wars

Of course, a scene like this would be an incredible Easter Egg, especially if theseGuardiansaren’t the focal point of the shot. While most fans likely wouldn’t notice it while watching the movie for the first time, it would be a fun discovery for fans of both franchises. Still, given that these are completely separate universes, the inclusion of Drax, Groot or Rocket could anger die-hardStar Warsfans as well.

Dave Bautistaalso mentioned the possibility of the Guardians joining forces withThe Avengersat some point. AfterGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2hits theaters in May 2017, it isn’t known if the studio plans on bringing these intergalactic characters into battle with Thanos inAvengers: Infinity War Part IandAvengers: Infinity War - Part II. A third Guardians movie is certainly possible as well, providedGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2pulls in impressive numbers at the box office, but as of now, we know nothing about the studio’s Phase Four slate.

Force Awakens

What are your thoughts on theGuardians of the Galaxypotentially crossing over with theStar Warsuniverse? Since the Guardians represent the cosmic side of the MCU, their characters crossing over withStar Warsis much more plausible than any other heroes or villains in the MCU, and with both brands under the Disney banner, it very well could happen. Do you think it would be fun to see Rocket, Groot and Drax having a drink at the Mos Eisley Cantina?
