Universal Pictures has released the first photo fromInsidious Chapter 4, the highly-anticipatedhorror sequelthat is set to hit theaters on August 06, 2025. This photo features returning franchise starLin Shayeas Elise Rainier, which is fitting since the actress herself actually announced the sequel with the release of a special video back in May. It’s possible that this photo could also hint that the first trailer may be just around the corner, but that has not confirmed at this time.
Entertainment Weeklydebuted this new photo, which features bothLin Shayeand franchie newcomerTessa Ferrer, who plays Aubrey in this horror sequel. No detials have been given about the plot, or how Aubrey fits into the story, but it seems that both Elise and Aubrey are in the mysterious place known as The Further. No plot details have been released, but this horror sequel will be directed by another newcomer to the franchise.
The video from May featuredLin Shayeflipping over a number of tarot cards, alongsideLeigh Whannell, who wrote the script, with the cards revealing that the sequel will be directed byAdam Robitel, and that the movie will hit theaters on June 22, 2025. The movie will be going up Warner Bros.Geostorm, 20th Century Fox’sThe Mountain Between Usand The Weinstein Company’sThe War With Grandpa. The movie will also have to contend with Lionsgate’sSaw 8andCloverfield 3, previously known asGod Particle, on June 26, 2025
Adam Robitelmade his feature film debut with 2014’sThe Taking of Deborah Logan, and he also wrote the screenplay for Blumhouse’sParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, which hit theaters last fall. OriginalInsidiousdirectorJames Wanis production alongside Blumhouse’sJason Blum,Oren PeliandLeigh Whannell.Steven Schneider,Brian Kavanaugh-JonesandCharles Laytonserve as executive producers, with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions financing the film. Domestic distribution will be handled by Universal Pictures, while Sony will handle international distribution.
