Inside Out 2
Inside Out 2 is the sequel to the 2015 original film, which starred a young girl named Riley with a head full of emotions. - literally. With Amy Pohler as Joy, Bill Hader as fear, Mindy Kaling as Disgust, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger, the all-star cast brought to life the emotions that adolescents face as they grow, change, and adapt to new situations. This sequel, currently in development, will bring Amy Pohler back as Joy, with Riley, now a teenager.
Suspicion had six different designs, most of which depict a female character. In some cases, suspicion is drawnas a detective, but in every case, there is great emphasis on the eyes and the general feeling of suspicion and looking at everything with a hint of doubt. Guilt, on the other hand, was only showcased in three possible depictions, each of which featured a berry-colored character. Two of the depictions show Guilt literally carrying baggage around, while the third design features Guilt carrying around a literal ball and chain.

Awe was the only one of these potential characters showcased that was not colorized. Two different designs were shown for Awe, as the character would have either been depicted as a “cute, chubby baby” or a “positive surfer dude.”
The Original Idea for Inside Out 2 Would Have Seen Riley Processing 9 New Emotions
Awe, Suspicion, and Guilt were just three of the emotions that were scrapped from the Pixar film. During a press conference in April,Inside Out 2director Kelsey Mann revealed that nine new emotions were originally planned for the story with the initial idea of being centered around Joy,expertly voiced by Amy Pohler, being overwhelmed by all the new incoming emotions as she tries to process everything and help keep Riley balanced in this new phase of life.
Ultimately, it was decided to lower the number of incoming emotions because some of the new emotions would cancel each other out, and it would be hard to tell a proper story while keeping up with all the characters. Check out what Mann had to say, courtesy ofScreenRant, below:

My first pass, my first screening that we did, nine emotions. Nine new emotions showed up. I really wanted Joy to feel overwhelmed by all of these new emotions that showed up. And I was like well, let’s have a lot show up. And then you couldn’t keep track. There were so many emotions and they all canceled each other out because you couldn’t keep up with everybody. And my first note from the first screening was simplify.
