Given their buddy status, it is somewhat appropriate that Hugh Jackman’sLoganand Ryan Reynolds’DeadpoolandDeadpool 2have become the first R-rated movies to join Disney+. In celebration of the movie’s arrival on the platform, both actors celebrated on social media in their own way.Hugh Jackmanallegedly hung up his Wolverine boots in 2017’sLogan,but five years later and Marvel fans are still holding on to the hope that he will become theX-Mencharacter once more time, preferably in a cameo in Ryan Reynold’s thirdDeadpoolmovie. For now, though, U.S. fans can now find Jackman’s swansong as the hero along with Disney+’s other Marvel content, and in a post that featured an image of Jackman hugging Ryan Reynolds in his full Deadpool costume the actor wrote:

“Thank you @disneyplus for adding brothers-in-arms @deadpoolmovie and #Logan as the first R-Rated movies on the platform. While your choice is questionable, we’ll take it."

In complete contrast,Ryan Reynoldsshowed his appreciation for the addition of hisDeadpoolmovies by ridiculing the House of Mouse, denying that his movies orLoganare the first R-rated content on the platform as many of their classic movies are traumatic enough to warrant an R-rating. Along with the post, the actor included images of some fake ratings cards forSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Old Yeller, The Lion KingandBambi, which he said should have a mature rating for “irreversible trauma.”

Fans Are Desperate for aDeadpool 3Update

WhileDeadpool 3is coming, there has yet to be any official word on exactly when that will be. Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy have both given very vague updates about scripting work progressing, but beyond that there have been no real updates on when filming is expected to start and how Deadpool will end up fitting with the rest of the MCU. So far, it is known that film will retain its R-rating, despite now being under the Disney banner, and it will see Deadpool referencing many MCU heroes and events. Beyond that, though, the rest is a mystery.

Previously, Reynolds explained how much of a challenge it is getting such a popular character right. In an interview withComicbook.com, Reynolds said:

“Deadpool, for me, is kind of like an anxiety inducing tightrope walk. I always think when I’ve got Deadpool just right, I’m speaking from experience from Deadpool 1 & 2, that I need to make it 30 to 40% percent better than it already it is. Even if I’m at the moment where I’m like, ‘This is perfect, this moment!’ Then, I stop and I go, ‘Okay, this has to be 30% better than it already is.’ It’s a stressful thing to get right, or at least right as far as I’m concerned. So, no, I never really thought about it but I did love the idea of playing with Deadpool and Korg in some of the marketing materials given the fact that Taika [Waititi] and I are in the movie. So, I kinda got to scratch the itch, inevitably anyway.”
