As we get closer and closer to the release ofCaptain America: Civil Warhitting theaters on May 6, some fans are revisiting the entireCaptain Americafranchise.Chris Evanshas played Steve Rogers four times so far, appearing in 2011’sCaptain America: The First Avenger, 2012’sMarvel’s The Avengers, 2014’sCaptain America: The Winter Soldierand last year’sAvengers: Age of Ultron. SinceCaptain America: Civil Warkicks off Phase 3 of the MCU, the studio’s biggest phase yet, a new video has surfaced that gives fans some unique insight into Captain America’s psyche, by showing how many people he has killed.
The video comes from YouTube userMr. Sunday Movies, who has delved through all four of theCaptain America moviesto find every single one of Captain America’s kills. However, there are a few things to take into consideration. For one, this video includes robots, so every one of Ultron’s robots Cap kills inAvengers 2counts. It’s also worth noting that even the “indirect” kills count, which helps explain why the fatalities are so high, since it includes the destructive finale inCaptain America: The Winter Soldier.
In this video, thedeath countgoes from 60 to 14,057 when the massive Helicarriers hovering above Washington D.C. come crashing down in the finale ofCaptain America: The Winter Soldier. However, it was revealed in theCaptain America: Civil Wartrailer that the death count was just 23 people in this scene. The final count, including a number of robots inAvengers: Age of Ultron, is 14,089, but surprisingly this video doesn’t include all of the Sokovia deaths inAvengers: Age of Ultron. TheCaptain America: Civil Wartrailer revealed that only 177 people died during the Sokovia incident.
With just under two weeks left untilCivil Warhits theaters on May 6, this video will surely need to be updated at some point, but we’ll have to wait and see how many people Cap ends up killing in this latest movie. There have been rumors that Steve Rogers himself may be killed at the end ofCaptain America: Civil War, which could lead to The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) or The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) taking over as the new Cap. We’ll get all our answers whenCaptain America: Civil Warhits theaters this summer.
