Henry Cavillhas teased something beyond The Witcher when it comes to his swordplay in the upcoming reboot ofHighlander. The new iteration of the 80s fantasy franchise will see Cavill stepping into his latest superhuman role after leaving behind Superman and Geralt.

As perDeadline, Cavill made a surprise appearance at this year’s CinemaCon, and as well as discussinghis current role in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, the actor shared a tantalizing tease about one of his upcoming roles - as the lead of the highly anticipated new Highlander movie. Speaking of the series, Cavill said:

If you thought you’d seen me do sword work before, you haven’t seen anything yet.

Cavill continued to share his love of the franchise, which will be just one of the projects coming up for the former Superman actor alongside hisWarhammer 40Kproject, and another Guy Ritchie movie,The Grey.Of Highlander, he said:

“I’m a lover of the original movies, for better or for worse, and it’s one of those things where when I was reading the script for the first time I wasn’t quite too sure where they were going to go with it. [The first few movies] touched on the lore… but my goodness me oh my, we are going deep into these characters.”

Chad Stahelski, meanwhile, is excited to continue his relationship with Lionsgate and bring Highlander - and moreJohn Wickadventures - to life.

John Wick is so close to my heart and to be able to continue shepherding it will be a blast for me. I’m so happy to also be launching another franchise with Highlander, a world that is so rich with engaging stories to be told.”

Henry Cavill will bring the world of Warhammer 40,000 to life on Prime Video.

Stahelski is also more than happy to be working with Cavill on the project, previously heaping praise on the actor, who will be required to take on the persona of the franchise’s immortal lead. He said previously:

“The character’s arc spans hundreds of years and he becomes many different personalities, all of which extend the timeline of his emotional growth. Then during our first meeting, my suspicions were confirmed: Henry was immediately riffing on the idea of the burden of immortality and you could see in his eyes that he can transform himself from being a young, vibrant soul to an old, wise soul. He had this combination I was fascinated by."
