The holidays are a time when we reflect upon our year and get together with loved ones. During this “Last Christmas” number, Finn and Rachel are on the rocks, and they perform this duet while walking through a dimly lit tree farm, looking longingly at each other and dreaming about what could have been. Dramatic, we know. A Glee-ful Christmas does not exist without a melancholy number between the show’s main couple.

Christmas is the kind of holiday that is both stocked full of emotions and filled with excitement and joy. “Extraordinary Merry Christmas” is a duet performed by Blaine and Rachel, the vocal front-runners for the New Directions. In the show, Rachel needs to prove to Artie that she is capable of capturing the upbeat and fun side of Christmas for the TV special. Well, they did just that. The song is upbeat and catchy, and if you haven’t given this one a listen, put it in your Christmas playlist ASAP.

5Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

“Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” is performed by the newer generation of Glee Club members. Even into the later seasons, Sue Sylvester, played by the hilarious Jane Lynch, remains an antagonistic cloud over the club. However, it seems like during the holiday season, her humanity comes through and shows a sparkling desire to help those who need it. Surrounded by an intricate winter wonderland scene in the auditorium, Marley leads the New Directions to thank Sue with a performance of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

4O Holy Night

The stars are out and inGlee, none of them shined as bright as Rachel Berry. The “post-grad” seasons ofGleeare not everyone’s favorite (viaScreen Rant). However, from the very first season of the show, this cast knows how to give us some great music.Gleegave us"O Holy Night"in the fourth season. When Rachel is chosen to perform at NYADA, the pressure is high for her to prove herself and how she deserves her spot. This song comes about as an encore performance. This stunning rendition of “O Holy Night” was magical and a really huge moment for Rachel’s character.

GleeLOVES a good duet. “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” is one of the most popular Christmas duets ever. How perfect is it that we have the power couple of Blaine and Kurt performing it in the magnificent Dalton Academy? This performance is warm and intimate. The set design is magic. Kurt and Blaine have all the chemistry in the world to pull off this number, and we were all charmed. When it aired on TV we could not take out eyes off our screens and to this day, we cannot stop listening to the Glee Cast Version.

2All I Want For Christmas Is You

Trees, holly, garland, ornaments? Visually, the glee cast doing “All I Want For Christmas Is You” number to open Season 3, Episode 9 hit every holiday magic mark you can find. Mercedes takes the lead as the Glee Club dances around to decorate the choir room for the holiday season. Also, singing such an absolute CLASSIC of a Christmas song makes this number one of the best in the entireGlee Christmas Soundtrack.

1Do They Know It’s Christmas?

Capturing the true spirit of Christmas and incorporating that into the sometimes chaotic plot of this show is something thatGleeknows how to do well. In this episode, the members of the New Directions are chosen to have a Christmas special on TV. However, the scheduling conflicts with their prior commitment to sing to underprivileged children with Coach Sylvester. Likely, the Glee Club realizes that Christmas is more than the TV special. They ditch the lights and stages to sing “Do The Know It’s Christmas?” for the kids. It is wholesome, bright, joyous, and not to mention vocally impeccable.
