Recently we passed along the killer trailer for the upcoming third season reboot of MTV’sScream. This third season will be calledScream: Resurrectionand will be moving over to VH1 to air it’s six episodes over two nights later this month. And today we have the first clip from the rebooted season to share with you guys.

The clip is called “Becky meets Ghostface” and features Michael Jackson’s daughter,Paris Jackson, you know, meeting Ghostface.

While the scene kicks off with a fun visual trick that makes the clouds in front of the moon look like theinfamous Ghostface mask, from there the scene mostly plays out like the classic Drew Barrymore sequence from the original movie back in 1996. But it quickly takes a turn when Paris Jackson decides to go to the front door and let Ghostface in. From there the clip gives us a cute twist, ending on a spooky Halloween note. I dig it.

But it does bring up an interesting point. From the looks of this clip and the recently released trailer, this new season ofScreamseems to be all about Halloween. So why are the powers that be behind the scenes at VH1 unleashing the new nightmare during the summer? I mean I guess beggars can’t be choosers and I’m just glad we’re getting this third season at all.

This third season starsMe and Earl and the Dying GirlandPower Rangersstar RJ Cyler as Deion Elliot, a local star football running back, whose tragic past comes back to haunt him and threaten his hard-earned plans for the future and the lives of his unlikely group of friends. Cyler will be joined by the likes of Mary J Blige, who will play his mother, along withScream Queensstar Keke Palmer,Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey, rapper, singer, actor, Tyga,13 Reasons WhyandThe Punisherbreakout Giorgia Whigham, andSplitandSkinsstar Jessica Sula. The son of The Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans, C.J. Wallace rounds out the cast of season three along withIron Fiststar Giullian Yao Gioiello. Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris Jackson, will guest star.

But best of all, this third season reboot will finally see (or more aptly hear) the return ofScreamquadriolgy voice actor Roger Jackson as the killer’s voice on the phone. You know the one. Not only that, but this third season reboot will finally feature the classic Ghostface mask that was missing from the first two season’s of MTV’sScream: The TV Series.

The Vampire Diariesco-executive producer Brett Matthews is the showrunner for this third season ofScream: The TV Seriesand he will also serve as the reboot’s executive producer along withQueen Latifah(yes, THAT Queen Latifah) Shakim Compere, Yaneley Artym, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena, Cathy Konrad, and the originalScreamquadrilogy director Wes Craven.
