Veteran actorGeorge Clooneyis well aware that his take onBatmaninBatman & Robinis not regarded very well by many fans, but he’s also been known to use the film’s bad reputation as a way of having fun. Released in 1997,Batman & Robinfeatured Clooney as Batman alongside Chris O’Donnell as Robin, Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl, and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze. From the cheesy one-liners to the nipples on Clooney’s Batsuit, the film has garnered some heavy criticism over the years. Recently, Clooney was present at the Royal Film and Television Production Magnet, a specialized film and TV production high school aimed at helping future filmmakers get their way into show business. He commented on the Batman situation, joking that Ben Affleck’s version, who will return inThe FlashandAquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is inferior to theBatman & Robinincarnation. PerTHR, here’s what the actor had to say.
“When you look at actors, you don’t really think of education, in general. I mean, you look at me, you just think, ‘Oh, he’s just the best Batman!’ Right? Oh, I know what you’re thinking… Ben Affleck, really? He’s got nothing on me!”

George Clooney’s Batman Probably Won’t Ever Return
The Flashwill bring in the multiverse to allow for different versions of Batman to appear in one film. This means that Ben Affleck’s Batman will be joining Michael Keaton’s Batman in the movie. It is theoretically possible for other Batman actors to also make appearances, in that film or elsewhere in the DCEU, given that the door is now wide open for that to happen. But we shouldn’t count on seeing Clooney’s Batman return, as the actor has been more open about his regret for taking onBatman & Robinin the past.
“They didn’t ask me,“Clooney previously saidof his potential involvement inThe Flash. “When you destroy a franchise the way I did, usually they look the other way whenThe Flashcomes by.”
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck says it’spossibleClooney could have filmed a secret cameo for the movie, but he doesn’t see that as being very likely.
“I don’t believe he is [in the movie],” Affleck said onJimmy Kimmel Live. “If he is, he hasn’t told me, so maybe he thinks I’d blow it. It’s possible. He may be very guarded. As far as I know, he didn’t want to return to that height of cowl ears, but I don’t believe he’s inThe Flash. But I didn’t even see Michael Keaton.”
