As with every season of HBO’sGame of Thrones, fans will be introduced to several new characters inSeason 5, which debuts in just over a month. Three of the characters fans are most looking forward to debuting are Nymeria Sand (Jessica Henwick), Tyene Sand (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) and Obara Sand (Keisha Castle-Hughes), better known as the Sand Snakes, the bastard daughters of Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal). HBO has released a new behind-the-scenes preview about the weapons of Martell’s hoemland of Dorne, which gives us a new look at the Sand Snakes.
Dorne will be one of several new lands featured inSeason 5, and as you may see in the video below, the women of Dorne are certainly not to be trifled with.Keisha Castle-Hughes' Obara Sand prefers the spear as her weapon of choice, which is the same weapon her father used to battle The Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) last season.Jessica Henwick’s Nymeria Sand prefers the whip, as we saw in the Season 5 trailer. Rosabell Laurenti Sellers’s Tyene Sand has changed somewhat from her portrayal in the books. In the series, she is a brunette whose mother is Ellaria Sand, but in the books, she was a blond with a different mother.
Other new characters debuting this year are Alexander Siddig (Doran Martell), Toby Sebastian (Trystane Martell), Nell Tiger Free (Myrcella Baratheon),Deobia Oparei(Areo Hotah), Enzo Cilenti (Yezzan), ,Jonathan Pryce(High Sparrow) andAdewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje(Malko).
