The first clip fromGhostbustershas arrived, and it gives us a stronger feel for the tone and humor that director Paul Feig has brought to the franchise. And guess what, it’s not much different from what we’ve seen in the trailers. The sneak peek features the four main new Ghostbusters, played by Kristin Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Lelsie Jones andKate McKinnon. And it introduces two new weapons that weren’t featured in the original movie or animated TV series.

WhileGhostbusters 2016takes place in an alternate universe where the original Ghostbusters never existed, the movie is loosely based on the animated series in terms of looks, humor and character. And this was at the behest of Melissa McCarthy, who was more familiar with that show than the movies. You can especially see this in how much Kate McKinnon’sJillian Holtzmannlooks like the animated version of Egon Spengler.

Holtzmann is at the forefront of this first clip. She’s responsible for creating the girls' newproton packsand ghost traps. Here, we get to see her two latest inventions. The first is called a ‘ghost chipper’, and it essentially works like a wood chipper, with the spirit going in one end, and coming out shredded on the other. We don’t get to see any haints torn to shreds, but we do get to see a demonstration of the weapon. We’re also introduced to the Proton Glove, which fits over Melissa McCarthy’s fist and shoots proton blasts. As she quips, ‘That is a deadly high five!’
