It’s been five long years since the finalHarry Pottermovie,Deathly Hallows Part 2, hit theaters, but this year fans can experience a new part of this magical universe. Warner Bros. will releaseFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Themon November 16, withHarry PotterdirectorDavid Yatesreturning to the helm, andJ.K. Rowlingmaking her screenwriting debut. This movie will kick off a new trilogy, and earlier today, directorDavid Yatesrevealed new details aboutFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2.

David Yatesrevealed earlier this month thatJ.K. Rowlinghad already finished the script forFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2, and that she already has “ideas” for the third movie. In a new interview withEntertainment Weekly,David Yatesteases that the story goes in a whole new direction. Here’s what he had to say below.

“We’ve seen the script for Part 2, for the second movie, which takes the story in a whole new direction - as you should, you don’t want to repeat yourself. The second movie introduces new characters as she builds this part of theHarry Potteruniverse further. It’s a very interesting development from where we start out. The work is pouring out of her.”
