Last month, NBC announced that cast members from several iconic TV shows will be reuniting to pay tribute to legendary TV director James Burrows, for a newTV specialentitledMust See TV: An All-Star Tribute to James Burrows. This special has been highly-publicized because it will include the cast of NBC’s iconic sitcomFriends, who will be reuniting for the first time in several years. As we wait for the special to air on Sunday, February 21 at 9 PM ET,TV Linehas a new clip featuring footage from thisFriendsreunion.

The initial report from last month claimed that all of the mainFriendsstars will be present at this event,Jennifer Aniston,Courteney Cox,Lisa Kudrow,Matt LeBlanc,Matthew PerryandDavid Schwimmer. However, just one week later, another report revealed thatMatthew Perryactually won’t be in attendance, since he is starring in a new play in London entitled The End of Longing. The actor later confirmed that he will introduce his fellow cast members through a video from London. While this may not be theFriendsreunion fans have been waiting years for, this clip teases there will be a number of interesting revelations about the show’s history.

The clip shows host Andy Cohen askingDavid Schwimmerif he asked James Burrows for any advice, after the actor started directing several episodes of the sitcom himself. The actor went on to direct 10 episodes ofFriends, before moving on to features likeRun, Fat Boy, RunandTrust. The clip also reveals how James Burrows assigned nicknames to the cast members, based on actors he had worked with in the past.

James Burrows recently directed his 1,000thTV episode. Over the course of his career, he directed 15 episodes of Friends. The special won’t just focus on the Friends aspect of his career though. The two-hourspecialis being likened to that of theSaturday Night Live40th Anniversary special that NBC aired last year.

The special will reunite the casts of many landmark James Burrows series. These sitcoms include Taxi,Cheers, Frasier andWill & Grace.
