As reported byCBS News, the Hawaii wildfires (which began earlier this month) have destroyed thousands of acres in Maui since the blaze first started. With at least 115 confirmed deaths and 850 individuals still reported as missing, the wildfires have had a devastating impact on Hawaii.

As a result, many celebrities have spoken out about the deadly fires.

Recently,Dwayne Johnsontook toInstagramto offer a heartfelt message of support to those impacted by the fires.

Along with a video of theBlack Adamstar, Johnson wrote, “All my love & strength back home to Hawaii as our Maui community grieves, yet still staying so strong in the spirit of resilience and mana. We come together. We overcome. That’s who we are as a culture and what we do.”

TheFast Xstar message went on to say, “Thank you to all of you around the world, continuing your support with uplifting prayer, resources, money, supplies etc.”

Johnson continued, “And to our kanaka OG’s and community/cultural leaders – I love you and thank you for leading the way. Guiding us as we anchor our mission of making sure that even in the wake of such destruction and heartbreak – our Hawaiian land, forever stays in the hands of our Polynesian people.”

Dwayne Johnson Encouraged Those Impacted by the Wildfires to “Stay Strong”

Other celebrities who’ve taken to Instagram to offer resources and support include Auli’i Cravalho, who shared resources and a list of the most in demand items earlier this month.

HerInstagrampost stated, “If you’ve ever felt helpless like i have over the last few days hearing about Maui and Big Island please continue reading for ways YOU CAN HELP.”

TheMoanastar noted that items such as “Baby food, Diapers, wipes, Toiletries (toothbrushes, body wash, soaps, etc.) Sleeping bags, Pillows, Bedding + Bed mats, Towels, Sandals” and “Basic home necessities” were in high demand.

She finished by stating, “On a personal note I feel numb and close to tears every time I talk about this. Of all the natural disasters we have faced; earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and flooding… to say we were under-prepared for this disaster is an understatement. DO NOT TRAVEL TO HAWAI’I UNLESS YOU ARE RENDERING AID. This has been declared a FEDERAL DISASTER. Your vacation can wait. My heart and funds and donations are headed your way Hawai’i even if I physically am not.”

Anotherstar that’s been vocal about the wildfires is Jason Momoawho has continued to share updates onInstagramregarding the devastating situation in Hawaii.

One of Momoa’s recent post stated, “Please support local business on the island and spend your dollars intentionally. If you plan to donate specifically requested items, it makes a world of difference to source them from local businesses on Maui. Everyone needs our aloha during these challenging times.”
