The first Diary of a Wimpy Kid debuted in 2010 and was directed by Thor Freudenthal from Jeff Kinney’s book of the same name.That film featured a main cast that included Zachary Gordon and Devon Bostick. Robert Capron, Rachael Harris, Steve Zahn, and Chloë Grace Moretz also had prominent roles. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules followed in 2011, and then Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days in 2012. David Bowers directed the second two installments.
