Ever since thefirst trailerforRogue One: A Star Wars Storyhit the web back in April, fans have been dying for more information and for more footage from the upcomingStar Warsspinoff. At the time, it was unclear exactly when that footage was going to arrive, but Disney and Lucasfilm have come through for fans, as the brand new trailer for the movie has surfaced. The trailer made its debut during the Olympics, which was promised earlier in the week via a TV spot, and it finally revealed the new look at a galaxy far far away that we have all been dying to see.
Fans were very disappointed that Disney and Lucasfilm decided not to deliver a new trailer forRogue OneduringStar WarsCelebration, especially considering that the release of the movie is only four short months away. Luckily, via a TV spot during the Olympics and on the officialStar WarsTwitteraccount, the new trailer was announced, and the studio delivered in a big way. We have taken apart the trailer frame by frame to give you a ton of photos, detailing everything you want to get a better look at as well as things you may have missed from the brand newRogue Onetrailer.
The initial teaser forRogue One: A Star Wars Storywas revealing in that, prior to the release of that footage, we knew very little about the movie at all. But it didn’t tell us much that we didn’t already know in terms of plot or character, so we were all very eager to see a full-length trailer so that we could have some more context for the things we’re most excited about in the firstStar Wars spinoff movie. DuringStar WarsCelebration, the studio did release a very cool featurette for the movie, but that also didn’t tell us much that we didn’t already know aboutRogue One. Even if we it did show us “Space Monkey.” As expected, this new trailer is longer than the teaser and much more in depth. These photos will help you be able to examine the footage and catch every awesome detail.
Ever sinceA New Hopedebuted in the summer of 1977, we knew that a band of Rebel soldiers was responsible for stealing the plans for the first Death Star, andRogue Oneis giving us an inside look at that very important mission and landmark moment inStar Warshistory. The plot centers around a new female character named Jyn Erso who is recruited by the Rebellion in order to help get their hands on the plans for the Death Star so that the they can destroy it before it destroys them. Erso is joined by arag-tag teamof Rebels who have to take on this high risk mission for the good of the Rebellion.
This firstStar Warsspinoff movie introduces a bunch of new characters, and will expand on thelegacyof some existing ones. The cast includesFelicity Jones,Mads Mikkelsen,Ben Mendelsohn,Alan Tudyk,Diego Luna,Donnie Yen,Wen JiangandForest Whitaker, who is playing Saw Gerrera fromStar Wars: The Clone Wars. The movie is directed byGodzillahelmerGareth Edwards. The script was written byChris Weitz, with the story byGary WhittaandJohn Knoll.
The first teaser forRogue Onemay have beenaction packed, but this new trailer had plenty of surprises in store for fans and it was an awful lot to take in.
