Beloved Hollywood starDanny DeVitohasresponded positively to the idea of voicing the Nintendo character, Wario, inThe Super Mario Bros. Movie 2. in an interview withThe Movie Dweeb, DeVito was asked about the various roles he is rumored to be playing, including Phil in Disney’sHerculeslive-action remake, and whether he would be interested in taking on the role of Wario alongside Chris Pratt’s Mario. His usual charming self, DeVito said he was open to the idea…but that it would come at a cost.
“You never know what happens in the world. I’m up for a lot of things. You know, up for. I’m ready to do a lot of things, so, whatever’s coming, I look at, I see, I evaluate.
You should tell him that I’m going to take them to the cleaners, but I should be in the movie.”
Clearly aware of the firstSuper Mario Bros. Movie’smonumental box office(the movie made a worldwide total of $1.36 billion, becoming the highest-grossing movie based on a video game) DeVito asserts that he would expect Chris Pratt and the studio to pay up if they want him as Mario’s yellow-and-purple clad archnemesis.
“Yeah, let [Chris Pratt] know. You should tell him that I’m going to take them to the cleaners, but I should be in the movie.”

Danny DeVito Confirms He Will Be Working With Arnold Schwarzenegger on a New Movie
Fans have begged for the pair to do a new movie together, and now it looks like Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger are doing just that.
A sequel was confirmed back in March, with both Nintendo and Pratt having teased thatThe Super Mario Bros. Moviewill start to expand the franchise. You can check out what Pratt said recently about the prospect of expansion below…
“Oh, man! There’s so much to explore. There’s decades worth of movies to explore, not only with Mario and Peach and Donkey Kong and Luigi and Bowser and Yoshi; that was teased at the end. But it just gets me so excited. I was such a Nintendo head growing up, so just thinking about how everything from Legend of Zelda to the entire Nintendo cinematic universe could be created and what that could look like for all of these characters that I love? I mean, there’s really no limit. We could talk about it for hours.”
Danny DeVito can currently be seen starring alongside another Hollywood Chris, Pine, in the mystery comedyPoolman. He is also due toreprise the role of Frank Reynoldsin the 17th season of the long-running sitcomIt’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
