Ahead of its television premiere next month, Comedy Central has revealed the dais forThe Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. The unveiling comes in a new promo video for the program, with Baldwin hitting each of the names with pre-recorded generic insults. As previously announced,Will and Gracestar Sean Hayes will serve as the roastmaster of the proceedings. Also revealed in the video for the dais are Robert De Niro, Blake Griffin, Caitlyn Jenner, Joel McHale, Debra Messing, Chris Redd, and roast regular Jeff Ross. Better yet, that’s not all, as additional roasters and names of talent attending are expected to be announced soon.
Alec Baldwinwill be joining a long list of celebrity names to previously be roasted to a crisp on Comedy Central. Some of the other biggest stars to be given the treatment include William Shatner, Bruce Willis, Justin Bieber, James Franco, Charlie Sheen, and Rob Lowe. Even the current president of the United States was once on the receiving end of a Comedy Central roast, getting verbally obliterated by a variety of celebrities like Seth MacFarlane, Whitney Cummings, Gilbert Gottfried, Marlee Matlin, and Snoop Dogg. For the Baldwin roast, Tenth Planet Productions' Joel Gallen will once again be executive producing, after executive producing and directing all of the aforementioned roasts. Rick Austin is also executive producing, withJeff Rossco-executive producing.
As one of the most well-known actors in the world, Baldwin shouldn’t need too much introduction. After first coming into prominence with a recurring role on the TV seriesKnots Landing, Baldwin took on a variety of leading and supporting roles in many movies. Some of his most popular film credits includeBeetlejuice,The Hunt for Red October,The Aviator,The Departed, multipleMission: Impossiblesequels, and many, many more. From 2006 to 2013, he appeared in one of his most beloved roles as Jack Donaghy on the NBC comedy seriesSaturday Night Live. For years, Baldwin has been regularly performing on the sketch comedy series, often in surprise appearances, as the controversial president. Trump himself is clearly not a fan of the mockery, having lambasted Baldwin andSNLover the skits on his Twitter account. Still, the portrayal has been widely acclaimed, earning Baldwin his third Primetime Emmy in 2017. More than likely, Baldwin will be back in the role when new episodes ofSNLreturn this fall.
