He said that even though he is ready to say goodbye, he will miss the cast, crew, and environment. He told theVariety, ‘‘I’ll miss the cast, I’ll miss the atmosphere, I’ll miss the bonhomie. Logan, probably, I’ll miss a bit. But upward and onwards.’’

The entire Roy Family in Succession

After the theatrical season 3 finale in the Tuscany countryside, Roy’s troubled kids Shiv (Sarah Snook), Kendall (Jeremy Strong), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) will fight against their father and each other for the throne of the media giant. However, even though Cox praises the acting skills of the three names, he thinks that Roy’s children are incapable of the throne.

‘‘They would absolutely destroy it. It would last in their hands probably no more than five minutes. And yet that’s what he wanted. He wanted his successor. Four seasons to prove it! And they simply haven’t proved it.’’

Cox Blames Daniel Day-Lewis for Method Acting Trend

Unlike Emmy Award-winning Jeremy Strong (The Trial of the Chicago 7,The Big Short&The Judge), who plays Kendal Roy, Cox is not a fan of method acting. When asked about Strong’s ‘‘Kendall is in pain, not me’’ statement that drew the boundaries between the role and his life, Cox praised him and replied, ‘‘I’m glad he is not in pain personally. He is a wonderful actor. It’s really a cultural clash. I don’t put up with all that American shit. I’m sorry. All that sort of ‘I think, therefore I feel.’’

Cox blamed three time-Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood,Phantom Thread,Lincoln) for the method acting trend and said that he had to retire early due to the heavy physical conditions of this acting style. He added that Strong was Lewis' assistant and was inspired by him.

‘‘Just do the job, don’t identify. He (Daniel Day-Lewis) retired at the age of 55, and I’m going, ‘That’s when the roles become really interesting. You’ve retired just at the point when actually the roles get better! Of course, Jeremy was Dan Day-Lewis’ assistant. So he’s learned all that stuff from Dan.’’

Succession’s fourth and final season will premiere Sunday, Mar. 26, on HBO.
