Bosch: Legacyfans have been patiently waiting for the return of the series, which ended Season 2 on a tense moment and left fans desperate to know what happened next. Season 3, however, will not directly be answering the questions they have, as series starMadison Lintz, who plays Harry Bosch’s daughter Maddie, revealed that there will be a short time jump when the show returns.

TheBoschfranchise has been an incredible success, but after six seasons ofBosch, and three seasons ofBosch: Legacy, the series will be coming to an end– although a new spinoff will at least give fans the chance to see Titus Welliver return intermittently as Michael Connolly’s former detective. As the new season approaches, Lintz spoke toGame Rantabout how the story will be picked up a little later in the timeline than many expected. She said:

Everything We Know About ‘Bosch Legacy’ Season 3

“It doesn’t pick up directly from that point, but you will get some context as to what happened after that moment, as well as how that has colored things since then. Maddie and Bosch’s relationship is an interesting one. They dance around the emotional stuff as much as they can, but sometimes it’s not always possible. The bottom line is, they only have each other in this world, and they know it.”

Slated to be released in March 2025, discover every detail about ‘Bosch: Legacy’s third and final season.

Obviously, the intense cliffhanger of Season 2 saw Maddie being rescued from her kidnapping ordeal, only to have a tense reunion with her father – not for the first time. It seems, though, that what happens immediately after is something that fans will just have to piece together themselves when the new season arrives.

‘Bosch: Legacy’ Has Surprises in Store, But Is There a Chance This Isn’t the End?

Following her kidnapping, Maddie is now set to return to the world of crime that her father has been a part of for years, but is she completely over her ordeal? According to Lintz:

“I’m sure if you asked Maddie, she’d say she’s ‘firmly in recovery mode.’ However, if you ask me, I think trauma will always find a way to manifest itself, and it’s more a matter of growing to make space for it.”

The new season will find Maddie investigating a string of robberies, but anyone expecting a run-of-the-mill case will find a surprise waiting for them down the line. Lintz added, “There is definitely a moment this season that I don’t think anyone will see coming. I know Maddie CERTAINLY did not. Just when she thought she had the whole fighting crime thing down…”

TheBoschfranchise has been one of the most consistent crime series on television for more than a decade, which madethe cancelation ofBosch: Legacyhard to take for fans – especially when Michael Connolly’s novels are numerous and there are many of Bosch’s cases that have been untapped. While a new series based on the character of Rene Ballard, who will also feature in the upcoming season, is in production, that wasn’t enough to stop many fans joining a petition to try and save the series. While it seems that it is not going to happen, Lintz acknowledged that the support has been appreciated by the team.

“I am very grateful to my Bosch family. Our fans are a part of that family. We see you, and we hear you and love you. Sometimes the industry ‘industries’ — if you’ll allow my Gen Z turn of phrase. The Bosch universe lives on through the Ballard spin-off.”
