IsBladegetting ready to debut onAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Season 5? We can’t say for certain and the series certainly hasn’t hinted as much so far, but there’s a small bit of evidence that leads us to believe it could be happening. Marvel Youtube’s host and senior creative producer Lorraine Cink recently posted something on social media that is worth raising an eyebrow or two and could be hinting at bringingBladeback to theMCU.

This needs to be taken with the appropriate amount of doubt and should be regarded as rumor for now. That said, Lorraine Cink recently took to Twitter to discuss meeting Jeff Ward, who stars onAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.as Deke. What he has to do with thisBladebusiness? Your guess is as good as ours, but here’s what Cink had to say about her meeting with Jeff Ward on Twitter.

“Got a chance to meet the very charming @jeffward1230 AKA Deke from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. today. I can’t wait for you to see the cool things we are cooking up! Keep an eye out in 2018. #AgentsofSHIELD #Blade”

What the hell is that #Blade all about? The rest of that tweet could have just read as a relatively generic hyping up of things to come on theMarvel TV series. But that particular hashtag is enough to make any Marvel fan question what ABC might have up their sleeve in 2018 forAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.When a fan inquired in the tweet thread as to what she meant, Cink simply posted a gif from one of theBlademovies with the hashtag #NoSpoilers.

Not thatAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.has done anything so far to make anyone think thatBladethe Vampire Hunter is making a comeback, but this is a curious situation. It’s also no that hard to believe. Just last season,Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.managed to successfully bringGhost Riderinto the fold. Granted, it wasn’t theJohnny Blazeversion of the character, but it was stillGhost Rider. So why notBlade? While Kevin Feige doesn’t have much to do withAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D., he expressed interest in bringing the vampire hunter into the MCU someday in an interview earlier this year.

“We think it would be cool. Someday. My tenure at Marvel started 17 years ago, and there were two things that sort of launched the modern era. One was X-Men, which was the first thing that people said, ‘Oh, there’s life here.’ But a few years before that, there was Blade. A character nobody had heard of at all, had only appeared in a few issues of Tomb of Dracula or something, turned into a big franchise. That was always a great lesson for me, where you go, ‘It doesn’t matter how well known the character is, it matters how cool the movie is.’ Which, many years later, would be the reason we do Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange. I think Blade is a legacy character now, and I think it would be fun to do something with him one day.”

In an age long before superhero and comic book movies began their reign of dominance on Hollywood, Wesley Snipes starred in a trilogy ofBlademovies, starting in 1998. The movies were modest box office successes, butBlade: Trinityfell off a cliff in terms of quality. Still,Marvel fanshave a lot of love for the character and would likely bring a lot of attention toAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.season 5 in 2018. Will it actually happen? Per these tweets from Lorraine Cink, we can’t totally rule it out.
