ABeverly Hills, 90210revival series is on the way featuring members of the original cast. Tori Spelling first teased the idea back at the beginning of this year, but at that time, it was believed that Spelling and former co-star Jennie Garth were reuniting for a series where they would be playing “exaggerated versions of themselves.” However, things seem to have changed pretty drastically in the last several months as the cast was recently spotted leaving a writing meeting and the secret is out about the revival series.
Most of the originalBeverly Hills 90210cast are on board for the revival series. Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, and Gabrielle Carteris will be reprising their roles from the iconic series while Luke Perry andShannen Dohertywill reportedly sit this one out. Doherty left the hit show in 1994 during the fourth season amid constant reports of bad behavior and fights with her co-stars. Doherty and Garth also had a pretty big feud during that time.
The90210revival series is currently being pitched tostreaming networksand there are definitely some interested parties ready to purchase the new series with the majority of the original cast, according to sources. It isn’t clear what the revival will focus on, but it has been said that it isn’t a “traditional reboot.” The show will more than likely feature the characters at the age they are today, nearly 30 years after the show debuted. Fans are probably pretty excited to see what Brandon Walsh has been up to after all of these years.
90210originally aired from 1990 to 2000 and spawned the successful spin-offMelrose Place. The show was immensely popular during its first two seasons and is thelongest-running Aaron Spelling project. The show featured high school-aged characters who were transitioning into college and preparing for adulthood. During the course of its original run, the series addressed numerous topical issues such as sex, date rape, homophobia, animal rights, alcoholism, drug abuse, domestic violence, eating disorders, antisemitism, racism, teenage suicide, teenage pregnancy, and AIDS, which made it pretty controversial at the time.
There is no release date set for the90210revival series or a streaming platform in place. But, that should all change really soon since the cast has already been meeting with writers. Fans will be able to see how Steve Sanders ended up as well as his good pal David Silver, who was always trying to get in on the hip hop game back in the day. Maybe he became a famous white rapper. Likewise, we’ll get to see Brandon Walsh, Kelly Taylor, Andrea Zuckerman, and Donna Martin. Hopefully they shed some light on what Dylan and Brenda have been up to.
