Following the disappointing news that Netflix have decided to cancel the sci-fi action series,Altered Carbon, fans have taken to social media to vent their anger and frustration. This means that the second season of the show will be its last, and fans are not happy to have to say goodbye toAltered Carbonso soon.
Many fans are perplexed at the streaming giant’s decision to give shows such as13 Reasons Whyseveral seasons, whilecancelling the intriguingly plotted science fiction series.
Needless to say, fans ofAltered Carbonare very unhappy with Netflix’s decision, with some calling out the streaming service in order to best communicate their angry.
Others have even noticed a pattern emerge, withNetflixseemingly cancelling the more interesting, risky, critically acclaimed shows such asAltered Carbon,Santa Clarita Diet,Sense8, andThe OA.
This view has been echoed by others, with anotherAltered Carbonfan saying, “What is Netflix even good for anymore? they’ve turned from a streaming service that took lots of risks on interesting shows especially sci-fi, to milking a handful of tired originals and showing reruns of shows that aired on TV.”

The Netflix series was created by Laeta Kalogridis and is based on the 2002 novel of the same title by English author Richard K. Morgan. The show starsThe Suicide Squad’sJoel Kinnaman as Kovacs in the first season, before changing to Marvel Cinematic Universe alumniAnthony Mackiefor the second season. The supporting cast is made up of the likes of James Purefoy, Martha Higareda, Chris Conner, Dichen Lachman, Ato Essandoh, and Kristin Lehman.
Both seasons ofAltered Carbonare available to stream now on Netflix, but, of course, don’t get too attached to it as, unless the show can find a new home somewhere else, there won’t be any more of it. There is also an anime movie titledAltered Carbon: Resleevedwhich is set before the first season that was released earlier this year.
