AhsokaSeason 2 is currently in production, withRosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Eman Esfandi reprising their roles as Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Ezra Bridger, respectively, alongsideanother fan-favoriteStar Warscharacter. The second season is expected to pick up where the first season left off, resolving the cliffhanger ending while delving deeper into the mysteries of the new galaxy. An image has surfaced at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), offering a first glimpse of one of the characters in their sophomore run.

The photo, which circulated on X/Twitter before being officially shared on StarWars.com, features Esfandi’s Ezra Bridger with a bold — but more familiar — new look. He has shaved off his facial hair, trimmed and tamed his locks, and also sports a new costume. The makeover will no doubt pleaseStar Warsfans, as some previously expressed disappointment over Ezra’s live-action appearance inAhsoka, particularly in comparison to how he looked inStar Wars Rebels. His new image is certainlymore in line with his animated counterpart.

‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Is Going Back to ‘Star Wars’ Basics

Star Wars Celebration gave us many exciting new details about ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2. Here’s what we know.

“Easily the best animated to live-action character casting,“one person assertedon Reddit about Esfandi. “One of the very few ‘animation to live action’ castings that actually still feels like the original character,“another agreed, whilea third chimed in: “The smirk is perfect!”

Esfandi’s original appearance as Ezra in the first season ofAhsokaaligned well with his circumstances, reflecting his isolation and detachment from everyday living, as it was revealed that he had been in exile with Grand Admiral Thrawn on the distant planet of Peridea. In the climactic final episode, he played a pivotal role in infiltrating Thrawn’s ship and alerting the New Republic of the looming threat posed by the nefarious villain’s return, setting the stage for a formidable showdown in the next batch of episodes that land on Disney+.

‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 Will Host “A Really, Really Big Battle”

Lucasfilm’s Chief Creative Officer, Dave Filoni, shared details aboutAhsokaSeason 2 at Star Wars Celebration in April, confirming that the next chapter will follow on from the first. He also primed fans for plenty of action, telling the crowd, “Half of it is a really, really big battle. There is going to be a war in ourStar Wars, like an all-out throwdown on a scale as best as I can do it.” Filoni said the conflict would directly involve Thrawn and would giveRebelscharacters, like Ezra, Hera Syndulla, and Chopper, more screen time on the back of fan demand.

AhsokaSeason 2 does not have a confirmed release date yet, but is expected to premiere sometime in 2026. The first season debuted in August 2023 to positive critical acclaim, high viewership, and several accolades, including a Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award. The second season could potentially release afterThe Mandalorian and Grogu, which is slated to hit theaters on August 18, 2025. That means fans would have waited three years for Ahsoka’s adventures to continue — but as Filoni has made clear, there is a very good reason for that.
