Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron,A Dog’s Purposearrives from acclaimed director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey). This stirring journey shares the soulful and surprising story of onedevoted dog(voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. The family film told from the dog’s perspective also stars Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson, K.J. Apa, Juilet Rylance, Luke Kirby, John Ortiz and Pooch Hall.

A Dog’s Purposeis produced by Gavin Polone (Zombieland, TV’s Gilmore Girls). The film from Amblin Entertainment and Walden Media is executive produced by Alan Blomquist and Mark Sourian, and it will be distributed by Universal Pictures. W. Bruce Cameron & Cathryn Michon and Audrey Wells and Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky all contributed to the screenplay.
A Dog’s Purposeis the second movie upcoming movie that takes a look at life through the eyes of a dog. Though director Todd Solondz’sWiener-Dogtakes a much darker look at life as acanine companion. That movie follows a dachshund who is taken in by a veterinary technician named Dawn Wiener. They pair soon sets off on a road trip. The lovable dog also encounters a young boy, a film professor, and a troubled grandmother and granddaughter.
