If you thought that the first trailer forWitchboardwas pretty good, wait until you see the red-band trailer for the remake of the 80s cult favorite, because it’s even better. Hitting theaters on August 15, this updated version looks nothing like the 1986 original, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as it takes things to a whole other level to deliver ahorrormovie that you won’t soon forget. While the new red-band trailer (seen below) does have a lot of the same imagery as the first onethat was released a few weeks ago, this one is a heck of a lot bloodier, as we see things like a cat eating a severed hand, someone’s throat being cut, and the pièce de résistance: someone ripping their face off to expose all the muscle and sinew that lies underneath....

Earlier this week,Beauty and the BeastdirectorBill Condonconfirmed in an interview that his upcoming adaptation will make history by featuring the first ever gay character in a Disney movie,Josh Gad’s Le Fou. The movie will feature the studio’s first ever “exclusively gay moment,” as the director put it, but this news has lead one Alabama drive-in theater to ban the movie for just that reason. It isn’t clear yet if other theaters plan to ban the movie before it hits theaters in just two weeks, on March 17....

The animated two-part adaptation of beloved DC comic,Batman: The Long Halloween, has now reportedly received an official rating of PG-13 from the MPA. The animated feature was given the rating for all the good stuff that it’s going to include, such as “Violence, bloody images, language and some smoking.” Many of DC’s animated adaptations have been given this rating, with the movies refusing to shy away from some of the more adult-oriented themes that feature in the comic book source material....
